The Short-term Disability benefit is 50% of your eligible earnings if you have up to two years of service and 60% of your eligible earnings if you have two or more years of service.
For STD events, please contact The Hartford. For more information on this benefit, see the Leave of Absence section or review the Short-term Disability plan document in the Total Rewards Café under Health Benefits.
Note: Several states offer residents paid leave benefits related to family leave and disability leave. Colleagues in states offering a paid leave benefit to eligible residents must contact both The Hartford and their state for claims and funds processing. Some states cover the full amount of eligible leave payments, and some states cover a portion of eligible leave payments. Sysco Leave of Absence-related benefits (e.g., STD, pregnancy leave, parental leave, etc.) run concurrently with state-paid benefits.
The Long-term Disability administrator is The Hartford. And, at most Sysco locations, the company pays the full cost of Long-term Disability, which generally pays 60% of your basic pre-disability monthly eligible earnings if you become disabled, up to a monthly maximum of $5,000.
The Long-term Disability plan pays benefits for an eligible disability that lasts more than 180 days.
Benefits may continue to be paid based on age and type of illness. Limits apply for mental health and substance use disorder disabilities.
